2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In our film we focus on social class by using both the setting and the clothes to portray this. For example our film is mostly set in a car park in which both a man and a woman lay, the man is dead and the girl has blood on her. The car park is quite dirty looking and run down, conveying the fact it could be in a lower class area. It fits in with our Thriller film because is a dark, isolated setting which makes the audience think why this young girl and man are there and what has happened.

Also we use the characters costumes to convey a divide between lower and a high class of person. For example the dead man in the film is in a suit and looks very out of place in the middle of a car park. He looks from a higher class and this then adds a lot of mystery to our film as the audience are asking why would a man who looks so smart be in a place that so run down and 'rough. The girl however is in loose fitting clothes and is very dressed down, she sits in with her run down surrounding but she is quite young. This again makes the audience think why would someone like that be laying in a place like this with blood on her hands.
